International intensive course on UNESCO Global Geoparks
International intensive course on UNESCO Global Geoparks with the theme of “UNESCO Global Geoparks and Sustainable Management” was held in Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark, Greece.
In this training course, the participants discussed how global geoparks can have a real impact on local communities in the direction of sustainable development.
In his speech, Alireza Amrikazemi, a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council and a consultant of Aras Global Geopark, also pointed out the role of food and related products in the economy of local communities of global geoparks, and described the introduction, standardization and supply of local food products as the cause of tourism development in geoparks.
In this event, Lavashk a food product of Aras Global Geopark was presented to audience and the proposal of Aras Global Geopark to host the first geogastronomy festival was presented to the executive board of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
