Apricot Festival was held in Aras UNESCO Global Geopark

The Apricot Thanksgiving and Harvest Festival was held in the village of Iri Sofla, the center of apricot orchards with various varieties.
Apricot fruit is used not only as a fruit but also as a food source in the preparation of various foods, dried fruits, various cakes, sweets, desserts, fruit juice, syrup, jam, etc. by the people of this region.
The tradition of producing this fruit has long existed as an important source of income for the local community of Aras Global Geopark at the end of the spring season.
In addition to having beautiful apricot orchards, Iri village and its surrounding areas had a rich geological heritage and a number of important geosites of Aras Geopark, including Hoodoo, Badland, Unconformity, and Fault, are located in this area.
A trip to this area can create happy memories for tourists, especially ecotourists and geotourists.
