Completing the fossil and minerals database of the Aras Geopark Visitor Center
In line with completing the fossil and minerals database of the Aras Geopark Visitor Center, two of the geological organization experts attended the Aras Geopark and conducted exploration operations along with the Aras Geopark experts for 3 days in different areas of the geopark including the geosites. The exploration has resulted in the identification and collection of more than 300 pieces of fossil and minerals, some of which add new data to the previous studies on the Aras Geopark. The new data collected include the identification of traces of the Carboniferous and Devonian periods which are the geological periods of pre Permian period, thus we can display traces of the earth in 400 years ago at the Aras Geopark Visitor Center.
In each UNESCO Global Geopark, visitor centers play a key role. In fact, the visitor center of every geopark acts like a window showcasing the geosites information with pictures, sample stones and fossils and written information.
